Uses of distraction

Though distraction usually detracts from the quality of the work at home, office and elsewhere, in some cases it can be used advantageously by persons who understand how the human mind works

Some of the uses of distraction are :

• Usually a person in a crowd is alert, but pickpockets may distract the person by brushing against him, or dropping a note. When the person bends to pick up the note, the wallet is robbed.

• In warfare, flares are used to distract the enemies attention.
